Local officials and business leaders are working hard to attract more promising industries that will create jobs in Ft Lauderdale (Click here).
The Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development is working to gather more information on the top industries the county is expected to attract in the coming years. As part of this effort, county officials are asking the local business community to voice their opinion.
The OESBD is now offering an online Targeted Industries Study in order to gather input from the local business community and prioritize the top three to five most promising industries for growth and job creation in Broward County.
The top 10 industries that have been targeted so far include:
- Advanced Materials and Hi-Tech Manufacturing
- Alternative Energy and Renewable Resources
- Aviation / Aerospace
- Global Business Services
- Global Media and Production
- Headquarters and Management Operations
- Human Resources and Higher Education
- International Trade and Logistics
- Life Sciences
- Marine Industries
The online survey is a follow-up to the recently-held Broward County Targeted Industries Study Forum, which was a joint effort with the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward Alliance. The event brought in about 160 people, including industry experts who provided insight into each industry.
"Concentrating on attracting additional headquarters into the Greater Fort Lauderdale area is a high priority in creating high-wage jobs and adding to the quality of life for Broward County residents," Stiles Corporation CEO Terry Stiles said.
