One local company is being recognized for its focus on providing service members with Dallas jobs.
G.I. Jobs Magazine recently named Southwest Airlines to its list of the Top 100 Military Friendly Employers. The company, which has 35,000 employees and brings in $10.4 billion in revenue, was ranked 76th.
Dallas-based Southwest Airlines currently has more than 750 employees with military jobs in the National Guard and Reserves. The company has dubbed November as "Military Heroes Month" in an effort to honor its many serving employees and customers.
"Southwest Airlines is built upon the core values and strengths our Employees bring to the company," Jeff Lamb, senior vice president of administration and chief people officer for Southwest, said. "The heart and soul of these men and women give us a competitive advantage and enduring strength. As with the US Armed Forces, our People are highly skilled and reliable employees who have the dedication, and training needed to get any job done."
The Top 100 Military Friendly Employers list serves as a primary resource for corporate recruiting programs aimed at veterans. The survey, which is in its eighth year, is conducted every year by G.I. Jobs Magazine.
